THESE ARE THE STEPS TO BUY A CAR IN GERMANY AND REGISTER IT IN SPAIN:
1. Search for a car in Germany through a search engine

2. Take a plane and fly to the city where the vehicle is located
You buy the vehicle and bring it to Spain.
(Either by driving or through a vehicle transportation company like this one).
2.1 If it is a company that sells vehicles, they will issue an invoice and if it is an individual, you will sign a sales contract.
2.2 Provisional license plates are obtained to be able to come with the car to Spain. This is done at a German DGT office, verkehrsamt. We will guide you from here if you have any doubts.
3. Once here, it is necessary to pay a series of taxes and fees:
– Registration tax
– ITV
– Road Tax (IVTM)
– DGT fees
– Certificate of Conformity (reduced technical data sheet)
– Registration fees
– Transfer tax (ITP). Only in case of purchase from private seller.
4. In a matter of a month you will have your imported vehicle registered and at a much lower cost than what the same model would have cost in Spain.

Exchange of Driving License in Spain

What are the requirements to drive in Spain?
